God makes a purpose, or sets a course of action. Who in the universe can set that purpose aside or keep it from happening? The answer, of course, is that there is not power than can countermand the orders of God. Everyone of us has the God given power of choice, and in our little sphere of influence, we can make choices; we then must endure or enjoy the consequences of our choices. But over and beyond individual and corporate choices of mankind, there is the will of God and that ultimately will be done.

At the end of the day the world and all that is in it will be as God wills it. Everything that is outside of God's divine plan will be case into the eternal garbage dump that is the lake of fire mentioned in Revelation 19:20 and 20:10, 14.

There is no power greater than the power of God. The purposes of God will be carried out by the power of God, and there is no greater power in the universe to counteract either of these.

From our viewpoint onearth, it may often seem that things are out of control and chaotic. But we see in part, and we know only part of the picture. As far as God is concerned, things are proceeding according to His purpose, and His divine power is in place to carry out what He has planned.

God has little interest in helping us accomplish OUR will on earth, but He has a great interest in helping us do His will while we are here. Wise individuals will dedicate their lives to do the will of God.

On earth the creature that God made in His image is often reluctant to do as God tells him, but the will of God will ultimately be done no matter what people do or do not do.

Satan rules this world (at the moment) and moves people to oppose God. John 12:31 tells us that a day will come when Satan will be driven out. The whole book of Revelations speaks of the judgement of those who follow Satan, but Ephesian 2:1-3 speaks to the work of Satan and to the mercy of God. "As for you (believers), you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us (believers) also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thought. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. (my italics/underline)
